HISTORY: The Taylor Apple Ranch has been family owned since 1943 when it was purchased from a well known Santa Cruz Mountain pioneer farming family. Near the farm shed there is a log cabin house that was built by the Shulties pioneer family in 1852. Today it is being used to house the farm supervisor and his family. Next to the walnut trees there was a two story Georgian Victorian main house that was built in the 1800′s by the Shulties pioneer family that was severely shaken during the Loma Prieta 1989 Earth Quake and was dismantled. Most of the apple and pear trees on the ranch are between 50 and 70 years old and are still producing quite well. Some of the Farm equipment from the 1800′s still remains today and can be seen as you tour through the ranch.
