HISTORY: The Taylor Apple Ranch has been family owned since 1943 when it was purchased from a well known Santa Cruz Mountain pioneer farming family. Near the farm shed there is a log cabin house that was built by the Shulties pioneer family in 1852. Today it is being used to house the farm supervisor and his family. Next to the walnut trees there was a two story Georgian Victorian main house that was built in the 1800’s by the Shulties pioneer family that was severely shaken during the Loma Prieta 1989 Earth Quake and was dismantled. Most of the apple and pear trees on the ranch are between 50 and 70 years old and are still producing quite well. Some of the Farm equipment from the 1800’s still remains today and can be seen as you tour through the ranch.
Hi,
How are you?
Our names are Jessica and Liz. We are the 5th grade level coordinator (GLC) for the following year, 2015-2016.
We were wondering if you can offer free tour for the kids to enjoy a couple of fun time at your farm on one of the Saturdays or Sundays.
Please advise, if it’s mandatory for the kids to buy ten apples each after the tour and who we should contact to get more information, thank you for help.

Hi Jessica & Liz,
Thank you for the inquiry.
Our school tours are held during the week days between 9 am till 5 pm.
We could open for a special tour for a fee depending how many children would attend.
The fee would only cover the cost to break even as that is all we hope to do at the farm.
If you are interested please let me know how many kids might attend, which school and which dates.
Thanks again for your inquiry.
Hi. When is your farm stand open? I would love to visit and purchase some produce especially Apple’s and pears during this season.
The farm shed is open daily from 9 am until sunset.
Thanks for your interest.

We would like to schedule an apple picking day on Friday, October 2nd at 10:00am. Our special education class has been there for the last three years. The kids love the tour and the apple picking. Please let me know if this date is available.
